The economy -- what is it really? It's an idea that inhabits our head and is a conversation livened by language. It doesn't exist in the physical world; it doesn't take up space and you can't see, touch, or feel it.
When we dissect what the economy is, we see that it is simply a tool that we have created to channel money. Today, the economy has become our most influential tool. But the key point is that we created it, we brought it to life. But now, the economy is generating our fear. It has become this cycle where we have invented the economy and the economy has generated our fear and it is because of that fear we are constantly scrambling to stay afloat.
Have you ever seen a construction worker chased by his drill or will we ever witness Bill Gates being intimidated by Microsoft? Absolutely not, they own their creation. It obeys them; the creator is in control and not the other way around.
Fear itself is harmless, but the effects and emotions that are created have a crippling effect. Fear gives us a "flight or fight" response. It’s adrenaline that increases our heart rate; therefore we feel that the only way to protect ourselves is to either run or fight back. When we sense fear, our emotions are in charge not our logic. So therefore, we are not thinking with clarity. Our brain is crippled by fear.
So, what is it about the economy that really triggers us? The economy will be the economy and it will always be the economy; but it’s the emotions and the chatter that the economy brings with it. Drop the chatter! Drop the millions of conversations that we have with ourselves and don't get emotional! Once the silence is present we can hear our logic; we can hear the most authentic part of our brain. Our brain is trained to make logical decisions, but the chatter outweighs our logic.
The game is important, not the reviews or the score, but the intention of the game. So, when playing the game, really play the game. Keep your head in the game and your eye on the ball.
In the end, the economy was just a wild goose chase. The economy was not of any importance.
