The Stress of Unemployment

After working for a long period of time, being unemployed and staying home all day doing just daily errands can be overwhelming for most people. It is particularly difficult when you had a very busy work schedule; it might not be easy to stay home all day, cook and clean and play with the pets or just have coffee in the balcony and watch all those people moving in and out of their garage; some are going to work, some have grocery bags in their hands, some are trying to run and burn those extra calories. So it is essential to learn to be patient while you have long term goals, you need to also enjoy the moments of peace during this period of unemployment. There are many things one can do when not working outside. You need to focus more on your stamina and soul and try to relax that crazy mind and be sure something good is going to happen soon. People who believe in God know that we are all here for a reason and God is always watching us from above and if you believe in destiny you will find out that in life there are certain things in your own hands. You can move and things will happen for you or you can be a pessimist, sitting home and constantly complaining that if things were a certain way you would be more productive and a millionaire, or if you were still allied with your lost buddies things would have gone in a better way. What we all miss in this section of our life is the facts and to forget the what-ifs. It is time to move on.
Sometimes I do the same thing but thankfully I have a very kind mom who is always there for me on the phone and she is very open-minded, supportive, and happy. She is the one who acts as a booster for me. She encourages me and gives me daily hope to move on to the next level of my life. If you look hard enough, each of us have someone supportive and positive near us who can inspire us. Stick to this person during your ups and downs, because this person can make you reach your highest dreams. For me, it is my mom; for you it could be your best friend, or a song or a favorite book.
Speaking of books, they are the best source to learn and kill time while you wait. The best place you can get involve and forget your pains are libraries, or bookstores such as Borders, where you can get a latte and sit in a corner and go over any kinds of magazine you love without pressure.
Also if you live in a community that they have a gym or heated pool take the opportunity and do some activities. Not only you will burn some calories you will feel happier, and good fresh ideas will get into your brain. Sometimes just listening to some upbeat music in the car can make you feel happy, and boost your energy level. Go online search for fun articles, shop online for fun, surprise your friends with e-cards. Anytime you get a sweet reply back from them you will feel much better than the day before.
If you have pets like me, take advantage of their company. Take them for a walk in the park and run after them like there is no tomorrow and enjoy them. It is a great way to exercise for lazy people such as myself!
Sometimes sorting mail and going over your financial paperwork trying to set a budget will also help you to clean any kinds of mess you have in your closet. This will ease your mind that all the paperwork have been taking care of freeing you up to hope for a better future. If you have not paid some bills, take care of them ASAP so you have no more worries. We all live in a very fast paced world so we need to react to matters faster than 20 years ago otherwise we will suffer badly. Time is gold and something we all love to possess so let's use our time better.
I wish you all the best and hope my tips help you work out your issues for a brighter future. Keep searching for jobs and I hope during this stressful time you will manage your life better and not get restless from of not being as productive as before.
