Last summer I had a privilege of having two old friends visit me from Paris and Germany.

I happened to be invited to a bachelorette party and wouldn't you know it- the party was in Las Vegas - the Persian pilgrimage. Like any other good hostess I took this opportunity to treat my friends to a visit to Sin City. We stayed at the famous Mirage, which was a great hotel for Christmas Iranian migration before the new hotels opened in the area.
One of my favorite celebrity colorists happened to open his hair salon at this hotel and of course we had to pay a visit. Kim Vo's salon had an interesting flow of energy to it and one area in particular caught our attention. As you entered the salon to the left, there was a table that had many of the celebrities hair cut and colored wigs displayed with their picture right next to it. So for those who wonder what they would look like, if they could have for example, Jenifer Anniston hair cut and color, all you had to do was to try the wig. I have to confess we tried different wigs of color and shapes: long, short, blond, redhead, peach, and black with bangs. We had a blast, laughed so hard, and took many photos of ourselves to remember our ridiculous looks. When it was all over, we concluded that we look fine just the way we are.
Not everyone is going to look good blond or short haired or so on.
I always face this situation at work. People look at the hair magazines and they get excited by a celebrity’s look. They like to have what she or he has and the first thing they go after is the hair, naturally. We really are different people with so many factors that can affect our choices. There is face shape and texture to be considered. One thing that I ask the clients while looking at the picture is to cover the chosen picture’s face and just look at the hair without the influence of the models beautiful makeup and features. There is so much involved when one wants to look their best, but the simple rule is we look great when we look authentically our own self. God created you perfect as you are, though it is great to have a different hair cut and color and nothing makes us feel better than going to the hair salon and coming out feeling like I am filled with worth, like the ad for L’Oreal hair color on TV. However, it is best to stay within the boundaries of our natural God given canvas. In my opinion, healthy hair is sexy hair. Keep your hair in great condition by giving it proper nourishment such as a leave-in-conditioner. Deep condition your hair once a week since everyone is in the habit of washing their hair more than 2 or 3 times a week.
Real beauty is from inside out, so practice gratitude, humbleness, sharing, and forgiveness. Real growth will happen. In my eyes you are all celebrities in your own lives.
