Forget the dress; last summer’s staple has officially been replaced by shorts. Shorts of all lengths- from Bermudas to itsy-bitsy hot shorts- are dominating the runways and the sidewalks. And why ever not? Summer is the perfect time to embrace them and they are highly versatile.

Coming in all textures and prints from standard denim to comfy corduroy to crisp cotton, there is something for everyone. The most modern and interesting way to wear shorts is to couple it with a top that is not too tight or too short. We are not going for the Daisy Duke look here; instead, something as simple as wearing shorts with a tucked in tee and flats is much more sophisticated. You can even dress up shorts by wearing a tucked-in fitted collared shirt and some kitten heeled sandals. Have fun with it and play with different textures and volumes- it will quickly become very clear why shorts are this summer’s hottest and most wearable item.
