Israelis and Palestiniansns have a fundamental right to live side by side in peace as two sovereign countries. I am deeply sadened by the hundreds of recent deaths of innocent Palestinian civilians (including women, children and even babies) in long time occupied dense, and economically depressed Gaza. Additionally thousands of innocent civilians are being injured in Gaza. At the same time, I also sympathize with Israeli familes who lost thier "some" beloved innocent civilians during this tragical crises. The images of innocent Gaza civilian victims being shown on Television, internet, and print media are horrific and shocking. Arab monarch, dictators, Arab League, Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC), and elite's continuous cowardly silence, frigid and limited protest is very disgraceful. Peace-loving people around the world who care about all human beings are very disappointed and hurt.
Israel has a strong economy and has the world's fifth sophisticated armed forces with possession of advance high tech weapons (i.e. F-16 bomber aircrafts, missiles, tanks, heavy artillery, machineguns etc). On the contrary, Palestinians have no formal armed forces and reportedly only possess small weapons (i.e. small rocks, slings, handgunds, rifles and small indigenous rockets etc.). Evidently, it has never been a fair fight between these two rivals. It is like a strong man beating a small child with a big stick! Of course Israel has a right to protect its people from external attacks, however, recent Israeli action has gone too far (killing of one hundred innocent Palestinian civilian for "one" Israeli civilian). It is not justified and has become like the battle of David and Goliath in which Israel is playing the role of Goliath. This massacre in Gaza by Israel is inhuman, and should be called no less than genocide.
Israel must realize that innocent deaths and atrocities generate long time hate, which is a clear danger for peace in the Middle East and in the Muslim world in general and will impact the rest of the world. Previously in the UN Assembly, 429 resolutions against Israel were passed, and Israel was condemned 321 times. The UN Security Council passed 131 resolution against Israel. Non-compliance of resolutions by Israel and unlimited/non-questionable support by the United States, British and others send the message of absolute double standard and destroy the credibility of the UN as well as Israel's supporters. Therefore, Israel should immediately comply with the recent resolution of cease-fire, and stop killing innocent and defenseless civilians with its weapons of mass destruction in dense Gaza. And Israel should immediately lift the blockade so starving, sick and injured people can get water, food, medicine and other necessities of life.
There is an undeniable historical fact which most "counterterrorism experts" on TV are not aware of: that Nationalistic-Insurrectional Terrorism is caused by foreing occupation and oppression. If Isreael is moved into Gaza for the sole purpose of regime change, then it should have first started from Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, etc since the oppressive Monarch and Dictators of those countries are a great factor of this kind of terrorism. People of this region need to be relieved from such oppressors: Israel should free all Arab-occupied territories and return to the 1967 position in order to achieve lasting peace.
Nationalistic-Insurrectional Terrorism will never diminish on this planet as long as one nation occupies another. Use of military force is not a durable solution to this chronic problem. Terrorism and/or guerilla tactics have been used for centuries in almost every part of the world. During the Cold War era U.S/CIA-Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-UAE fully supported Afghani insurgents against the former Soviet Union (USSR) during ten years of occupation of Afghanistan. The Afghan insurgents used all forms of guerilla/terrorism tacticts against Soviet Army and Air Force and proudly called those Afghan insurgents "Mujahideen" (freedom fighters).
Now a vast majority of the same Afghan groups are fighting against US and NATO, and we call them terrorists, and occupation of Afghanistan is called a "War on Terrorism." Evidently, among nineteen terrorists who participated in 9/11 tragedy not one terrorist was Afghani, Pakistani or Iraqi. We in the Western world create a monster to use against our rivals, however, when the very same monster disobeys or challenges us, we then try to destroy the moster and most of the time it does not work. Countries who claim to be civilized and champions of democracy should set themselves as international role models. They should accept and honor the result of democratic and fair elections even if their enemy is elected to lead his/her country.One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and it depends on each given situation and underlying causes. Nationalists are found in every part of the globe who naturally resist against foreign occupying forces. Alexander the Great encountered serious opposition from the AfghanTurkestan and Bokhara tribes which tested Alexander to the hilt. In the opening phase of first Afghan war (1839-42) the British General Elphinstone and his entire garrison (more than 1000) were slaughtered by the local insurgents.
From 1939 to 1943 during the occupaton of Palestine by the British, the Israeli Zionists' insurgency or so-called Terrorist Organization Irgun and Lokhammei Kherut Israel (then led by Abraham Stern,) and former late Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin had committed many acts of terrorism against the British Army, police, Arabs, and other civilians. In July 1775, during the British occupation of America (in the Southern Colonies: Georgia, North and South Carolina) Patriots like Joseph Habersham, Andrew Pickens, including General Washington and others used guerilla tactics (includidng certain forms of terrorism methods) against the British forces, governers, and other officials. Likewise, IRA, and IRB resisted against the British occupation in Ireland and committed various acats of terrorism in order to achieve their freedom goals. Miracles do not happen in war: generally there is no match between sword and gun, and rifle and missile.
There is a proven historical fact that powerful and pre-clononial nations under the intoxication of their military might always dominated and invaded weak and vulnerable nations. Most of those arrogant colonial powers only understood the language of stern defensive response.
Israel, which is widely believed to possess some 200-300 nuclear warheads, has repeatedly refused to ratify the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In October 2008, the NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said: "... As we all know, Israel never admits to what it has, but I do not see very many arguments for the Jewish state to abandon its potential,...that because of Iranian missiles, he would never expect Tel Aviv to abandon its nuclear program which is believed to be producing at least 7-8 atomic bombs per year." Generally speaking, all nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons are harmful and destructive for mankind. No country should possess such weapons, and they should all be dismantled. However, achievement of peaceful nuclear technology (for energy etc) is a fundamental right of every nation including the Islamic Republic of Iran. As a matter of complete fairness, no country or certain group of countries has any God-given/natural right to possess nuclear techonology/weapons and prevent other countries from doing so. Such a call to action sends a clear message of double standards and gross hypocrisy. Any of those countries in a nuclear club who actually have produced, tested and used nuclear weapons, intend to reuse in time of need, invaded and occupied other countries, ethically and morally have no right to stop other nations from developing nuclear weapons if they desire to do so. As a matter of fact, Iran should test nuclear devices soon and just like Israel, Iran should also possess at least 100 nuclar bombs for deterence and to maintain balance of power in the Middle East. There should be no division or issue between Shia and Sunni countries. If any or all Arab countries desire to make nuclear weapons, so be it and there should be no fuss about it.
IRONY IS WHEN ALL RIVALS HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS THEY THINK TWICE BEFORE REALLY GOING FOR FULL SCALE WAR! Unfortunately, the Iraq war has been a colossal blunder which has already cost thousands of lives and about ten times more have sustained injuries. Also, still hundreds of innocent civilian lives are being lost every day in Afghanistan, Kashmir, Iraq and other occupied territories around the world.
Those countries need to be freed completely from foreign occupation and influence which would certainly enable to diminish Nationalistic-Insurrectional Terrorism on this planet. Apparently, most Muslims around the world do not hate the Jews and they are simply against the Zionist regimes of Israel becasue of their atrocious actions against the Palestinians who have been under occupation for the last sixty years. Pro-Imperialism countries need to cease the policy of divide and rule. Also, all three religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) need to a show a great deal of tolerance toward each other as well as other faiths/groups including atheists and apostates etc. All religious group must cease pursuasive approaches of converting others because people from every religion firmly believe that their own religion is true and perfect. No minority group should pay any kind of taxes to majority ruling religion on the basis of having different religion. Continuous religious animosities, prolongating occupation, domination and oppression will finally lead to an imminent clash of civilizaitons and potentially the destruction of planet earth. Live and let live others in peace, and strive for the betterment of mankind.
