Answers to Your Beauty Questions
My friend, who just came to visit me from Europe, has a beautiful, smooth skin. She told me she had a procedure done called Belotero. Do you know where can I have it done in the U.S?
Belotero is filler which is very popular in Europe. It is waiting for FDA approval in the U.S and that’s why you won’t be able to have these injection fillers yet. Since it is a hyaluronic acid fillers, and has thinner texture than other fillers which are available here, it is a better option for most superficial injections. And that’s why it is popular in Europe now.
I have heard that lip liner is not fashionable now. Is this true?
Absolutely not. Lip liner is always in fashion. Perhaps you have heard that the dark and bold lip liner is not in fashion now. You need a lip liner when ever you wear a lipstick to stop your lipstick from bleeding. Furthermore, a lip liner creates a boundary and helps the lipstick stay on longer.
What is a best way to apply a blush? I feel always put too much and it takes me so much time to take it off and put on blush again.
I understand your frustration. First of all, if you feel you are putting too much blush try to lighten it by applying face powder, which will tone it down.
There are different tricks that depend on your face shape. If you have a round face, apply your blush in an upward brushing diagonally in the hollows under your cheekbones. This will help your face to appear longer, slimmer and will add definition. If you have a square face, apply your blush in a circular motion onto the apple of your cheeks (while smiling) and blend it into the corners of your forehead. This technique will take the attention off the angular jaw. If you have a long face, apply your blush in horizontal strokes high on the apples of your cheeks. And sweep your blush out toward your ears and softly sweep the bridge of your nose. Finally, if you have a heart shape face, which means a pointy chin, apply your blush lightly beneath each cheekbone and blend it downward. Make sure you sweep lightly along your temples as well. This will help create a more balance look between the width of the forehead and the pointy chin.
No matter what shape your face is it is very important that you blend your blush really well and finish by applying a face powder over it.
