Fall Beauty & Fashion Tips

Autumn is my favorite season. I love the way it announces its arrival by changing the leaves from green to orange, yellow, purple, and red. I think nature in autumn is very inspiring for the fashion world. You will see all the colors in leaves in makeup palettes of every cosmetic company. My favorite city in the fall season is New York City. Not only do you see and sense the change of the season from summer to fall, you also see the change of fashion more so than in California.  Because of the kick off of the New York City Ballet's fall season, you will find beautiful glittering jewelry (especially elegant brooches and earrings), lovely cocktail dresses, and evening gowns in most department stores and boutiques. 

Fashion Tip: This fall animal images and animal patterns which were iconic in the fashion world in the 60s, 70s, and 80s have found their way back into the fashion collection across the globe. But if you don't like outfits with animal imagery or pattern and still like to follow the trend, just wear cute accessories such as earrings, rings, shoes, and a wallet with animal patterns. 

Perfume Tip:  Fall season is the transition time from light flowery or fruity perfumes to warmer scents with notes of vanilla, amber, musk, and wood.   This season I have seen a lot of new sensual perfumes that have the mixture of flowers such as jasmine, orchid, rose and different spices. And that is good news for those of you who still enjoy the scent of flowers and don’t want to give it up in fall and winter time. What I have enjoyed smelling in many perfumes this season is the contrasting smells of fruit, flowers, and peppercorn; creating warm, sensual, and romantic scents.

Makeup tip: If you really like the way a lipstick color looks in the tube, put a touch of foundation on your lips before applying your lipstick. This way, your lip color would be almost the exact match as what you see in the lipstick tube.
